MISOKA-AN KAWAMICHI-YA (Noodles)

It is a well-established soba restaurant whose history goes back to the Edo-period. The restaurant with sukiya-style interior offers Western-style dining rooms as well as popular Japanese-style rooms which you can enjoy the view of a Japanese garden. With traditional Japanese-style seating, you may feel time-slipped into an old era in Japan. We highly recommend restaurant's proud pot dish called “Hokoro”, a wonderful combination of Japanese delicacies. The restaurant is conveniently located in the center of Kyoto City.

KAGIZEN YOSHIFUSA (Traditional Japanese Sweets Cafe)

Kagizen Yoshifusa is a sweets cafe whose history goes back to Edo period. While located in a lively area of Gion, its spacious tea room with Tsuboniwa (a key spot garden) provides a relaxing and quiet atmosphere. The recommended menu is “Kuzukiri”. This refreshing Japanese jelly like delicacy is made from hand-picked arrowroots from Yoshino area and served on the top of crashed ice in a Wajima lacquer dish. Exquisite combination of the delicate taste of kuzu and deep sweetness of brown sugar syrup has been favored by discerning gourmets in Gion. It is now a dish loved by many. As kuzukiri easily loses its flavor, Kagizen Yoshifusa offers neither delivery nor takeout services in order to make sure kuzukiri is served at its best. You can only enjoy them at the store’s tea room. There two stores of Kagizen Yoshifusa within Kyoto City. The main store is in Gion and its branch store in Kodaiji.
